Too drunk for STDs.

So that title might be a tad misleading, so apologies for that. Two huge projects are incoming (or rather, being currently worked on), both fairly exciting. The first is a "retro" package design project, such as vinyl, 45, VHS, tape, etc... I decided to go with a more raw, dirty approach by focusing on some good ol' punk:
Give Me Convenience or Give Me Death is a compilation album put together by the band right before they officially broke up. I figured this would be a good starting point for the vinyl, as it really showcases the band's focus on anticonsumerism and the whole anti-Reagan era feel. I'm currently researching package design so that they won't just end up being an image slapped on some paper. Maybe some special cuts here and there, out-of-the-norm packages (cigarette box for the tape, perhaps?). The second project is for STD awareness... or rather, an entire campaign of awareness. SUPER awareness. Like those TRUTH ads and all that jazz. Basically, I'm to make the following: Billboard(s) Bus (w)rap Bus stop poster Infographic poster Newspaper ad Magazine ad ... and other promotional items. Why STD awareness? One of the major things that struck me to choose the project theme was a series of billboards around Pensacola about a year or so ago. All the boards had the same tagline: "Don't hook up with Syphilis!" For whatever reason, that apparently worked, and reduced the outbreak by a "metric shitton". But seriously, it had a target demographic and that target demographic responded. Simple, really. So the idea is the go for a very blunt, to-the-point slogan with an advertising sense. What comes to mind now is "Wear a condom, dumbass". Seems straightforward enough, but we'll see.
